Every time I talk about attention on this page, it gets a lot of attention. That being said, I think it’s time for me to take my own advice.
To give myself some credit, I don’t just write about self-healing and personal transformation, I live it. I do my best to embody it. I understand deeply that knowledge is one thing, but applying that knowledge; moving it through the body into an experience, is what creates true wisdom and ultimately true transformation.
But lately, when it comes to my attention, I’ve been trying to do and be all the things. Doing and being all the things leads to doing and being none of the things very effectively. In short, I can’t show up as my best self.
My best self loves writing for this page. I’ve never once felt like it was a chore in the 5 years it’s had a heartbeat and the notes app of my phone continually overflows with entries as thoughts and inspiration strike throughout my days. It’s my outlet for creative expression, and healing, and in return I know it serves as a guide for many others in igniting their own power. That power though, as I preach, lies in where we focus our attention.
As a result, I’m taking the rest of the summer off from writing to give my full attention to re-launching Self by Design and, in September, returning to the East Coast to be with family and friends for all of the beautiful things life affords us. My grandmother’s turning 90 years old (I’m sure she could teach us thing or two about life), several of my best friends have brand new babies I haven’t met yet, several more have weddings to celebrate, and my twin brother and I, as we’ve done (almost!) every year, are celebrating our birthday together.
I’ll still be active on here but instead of creating I’ll be engaging with this community to learn more about you. Your passions, dreams, challenges, and everything in between. Please don’t hesitate to continue reaching out and feel free to email me at any time.
Lastly, when I return in the fall, I’ll be taking a deeper dive into neuroscience, consciousness, and the power our of minds in healing our bodies.
Affording us all a truly unapologetic life by our own design.
Lots of love,
Life by Design was born out of a need for my own self-healing after decades of unresolved illness. It wasn’t until finding the courage to look within that I discovered it was my own belief system holding me back from experiencing a truly thriving life. We all have access to that thriving life. We just need to rediscover our power and ignite the healing-self. Only then can we unapologetically live a life by our own design.
