"Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace, and power in it." - Julia Cameron
Shared this quote on @self.by.design the other day and it really resonated with me.
For a long time, I was the girl with a head full of ideas (and a well-worn notebook, and the yellow lined notes app on my phone, and multiple “Inspo” Pinterest boards, and...you get the idea). I would fill up on possibility. Stay high on the dream.
But there was no action. No follow through. I often threw myself into a push-pull cycle of self-sabotaging procrastination followed by the nervous energy and anxiety of not pursuing the vision my imagination had so carefully painted and hung before me.
What I've learned - whether it’s for your own healing, an idea you have, a community you want to build - is to simply just begin. Start somewhere, anywhere. Use what you have. Move that energy and those emotions from your mind, through your body, and out into the world.
That forward movement, however small those initial steps may be, invites the law of physics in and sets things in motion.
And we all know once something is in motion, it's hard to stop. That momentum propels you forward, from the depths to the heights, and that vision takes flight.
Life by Design was born out of a need for my own self-healing after decades of unresolved illness. It wasn’t until finding the courage to look within that I discovered it was my own belief system holding me back from experiencing a truly thriving life. We all have access to that thriving life. We just need to rediscover our power and ignite the healing-self. Only then can we unapologetically live a life by our own design.
