Lately, I’ve found myself reluctant to scroll very far on the ‘gram. I admit, after I transitioned this account from solely quotes to one that represents my own holistic healing journey, I spent a little too much time seeing what everyone else was up to. I unfollowed all of the accounts that I felt didn’t represent where I was headed and curated my little feed to be a source of inspiration. A perfect vertically oriented vessel of aspiration and vision. Thing is, that could only take me so far. Those visions are created by someone else, with their own set of values, goals, beliefs, and circumstances. They aren’t mine, and their life isn’t mine. That’s what makes us all so unique. The fact that there will never be someone with the same DNA, upbringing, culture, perspectives, conditions, etc. as you. There’s never been anyone like you before, and they’ll never be anyone like you after. So when I need some inspiration these days, or just a reminder, I often turn to my own words. I’ve reread my blog posts for the first time since hitting publish and wincing a bit that I’ve shared too much. I’ve often revisited my Instagram posts to remind me where I was at it in that point of time, and where I’m at today. And I’ve learned to think clearly for myself, not based on what’s popular or trendy. As a result, I’ve decided that the best muse will always be the one inside you. Let your art - and your life - speak for itself, literally.

Life by Design was born out of a need for my own self-healing after decades of unresolved illness. It wasn’t until finding the courage to look within that I discovered it was my own belief system holding me back from experiencing a truly thriving life. We all have access to that thriving life. We just need to rediscover our power and ignite the healing-self. Only then can we unapologetically live a life by our own design.
