I didn’t think I had any space to write this morning but something came up and I needed to create it. I use these little squares as an expression of my own inner and outer world, yes, but today I want to speak about something that’s affecting someone else close to me. Mostly because I need to process it myself, and maybe it will help you process as well, whether you’re the one moving through it or holding space for another. If you or someone you know is making a shift in a positive direction, whether it be breaking out of relationship that’s no longer serving you, eliminating your dependence on a chemical substance like drugs or medication, or repairing old wounds that have been holding you back, it always gets worse before it gets better. Always. It’s universal law. All of those feelings you’ve repressed and silenced for an easier route like staying in that relationship, numbing it with drugs and medication, or unconsciously repeating the same patterns are now roaring loud. They are rising to the surface and your body, mind, and soul are working hard to reestablish a new equilibrium. It’s all working for you though. Every part of the system. Your body doesn’t do anything that isn’t for your greater good. It doesn’t ever work against you. Its symptoms may not be desirable but it’s all part of its labor to cleanse, restore, and renew. We just need to allow it to do the work. Trust its intelligence. Your soul doesn’t want anything that isn’t for your greater good. It doesn’t ever work against you. Its path may not feel easy, desirable, or even fair but it’s all part of the process. We just need to allow it to speak. Trust its intuition. Your mind doesn’t say anything that isn’t for your greater good. It doesn’t ever work against you if we allow the soul to speak first, and listen to what it has to say. If a thought comes through that isn’t in support of either the soul or the body’s work, thank it for its concern and let it go. Hold to the vision of what’s on the other side. Remember why you started. And know that while you rebuild your foundation you can lean on those who are on steadier ground because we all need each other. We are all in this together.

Life by Design was born out of a need for my own self-healing after decades of unresolved illness. It wasn’t until finding the courage to look within that I discovered it was my own belief system holding me back from experiencing a truly thriving life. We all have access to that thriving life. We just need to rediscover our power and ignite the healing-self. Only then can we unapologetically live a life by our own design.
